Matador’s open items
Items 1 and 2 are the content consolidation, covered in detail below. Ask if you need more on any of the others.
1 · Choose the primary page for each of the 11 pairs
For every pair, decide which address should remain once the two pages are combined. Full comparison below.
2 · Complete the content merge for all 11 pairs
Keep the useful material from both versions and leave one complete page per topic, edited on the page itself. Step-by-step instructions are in the spreadsheet.
3 · Decide what happens to 94 old addresses
The attached address map accounts for all 1,612 public addresses on the current site. 94 of them are still live with no page on the new site and no redirect planned, mostly deeper practice-area pages such as spinal-cord evidence or anesthesia errors. Each needs to be migrated, folded into an existing page, or retired. They are on the Needs a decision tab.
4 · Replace the twelve test footer links
The footer is running twelve placeholders, all still labelled “TEST —”, across four columns. Enter the final labels and destinations, place them in the four columns and set their order at Footer Links in the WordPress admin. No development work needed.
5 · Finalize the WordPress menu with Steve
The main navigation currently carries 19 items. Agree the final order and labels with Steve, including adding Careers, adding or repositioning Resources, and removing Home. The menu is at Appearance › Menus.
6 · Confirm the Spanish-page plan
The agreed approach is to handle Spanish with a translation plugin instead of rebuilding the pages by hand. No plugin has been chosen or installed yet. Still open: which plugin, whether translated pages should appear in Google, and what the 48 existing Spanish addresses do on launch day. They are marked Deferred on the address map.
7 · Clarify the review information to keep
All 112 testimonials carry a rating value. Before any score is shown publicly we need a real example page and the source of that score, so the site does not publish a rating we cannot back up.
8 · Complete the final SEO review and signoff
Once the above is settled: review page titles and descriptions, which pages Google may show, the sitemap, and the final old-to-new address behaviour.
Eleven topics with two competing pages
The current site has eleven topics with two different pages competing for the same search. Nothing is duplicated word-for-word, but they share the same topic and, in every pair, the same H1. The agreed plan: combine the useful material into one complete page per topic and redirect the other URL. Matador chooses the primary URL, makes the content merge on the page itself, and supplies the final SEO fields.

The two working files
matador-11-pair-handoff.xlsx is the file you fill in for items 1 and 2. Its yellow columns are where your decisions, final search fields and merge notes get recorded.
old-to-new-url-map.xlsx lists all 1,612 old addresses beside their new one, with a note wherever there isn’t one. Its Needs a decision tab is item 3; the Redirects needed tab lists the 251 pages that moved.
Both are attached with this page.
All 11 pairs, current live state
Live H1 and SEO title captured August 14, 2026. Word counts are from the verified migration route list. They show how much material exists on each page, not a quality score, and do not determine which URL should win.
